The start button is a central component of the Windows operating system’s graphical user interface. First introduced in Windows 95, the start button provides a launching point for almost everything the user wants to do on their computer. It is typically located on the bottom left corner of the screen, as part of the taskbar, and features the Windows logo. In Windows 11, the start button is more centralized on the taskbar.
