PS/2 is a legacy hardware interface used to connect keyboards and mice to personal computers. It uses a dedicated serial communication channel per device and does not support hot-plugging. PS/2 was largely replaced by USB but is still supported for compatibility. Example: Some BIOS environments rely on PS/2 keyboards.
